Saturday 15th December we had our first showcase!
This exciting event was our biggest milestone yet, and it went fabulously, all our classes had a few performances each and these were spread out over two halves. The little classes were ecstatic when the spotlights shone, brightly on them, with the few inevitable dramatic waving to their family in the audience. The children were all delighted and excited to be performing in front of a real audience.
The older ones were equally as enthusiastic and delighted to be putting their. months of hard work into the real thing.
The first half mostly consisted of the younger classes, doing group dances to festive songs, in adorable reindeer, ballet and gymnastic costumes.
`The second half opened with a sparkly number from Jackson Five's Rockin' Robin, followed then by the teenagers who did a beautiful trio, lyrical dance performance. We had the younger trio dancing to many peoples Christmas favourite All I Want For Christmas is You.
We also had some singing performances in the show, with a trio of girls singing Christmas songs,The adult `Musical Theatre class was next performing The Greatest Showman's Come Alive, although apprehensive about the audiences response this performance was a real hit, with the audience all enthusiastically clapping in time to the music driving them on throughout the song.
To finish off the show we had all our students up on staging singing Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, with a final bow from each group and a special guest appearance from Santa to truly get everyone in the Christmas spirit.
The show was a great success, and truly rewarding for everyone involved, giving all our students the confidence to perform, and bringing that sense of fun into what we do.
We hope you have had a good Christmas, and a happy new year. See you in 2019!
